WHY I AM STANDING
"Change for West Scotland – Rebuild, Voice, Deliver"

West Scotland needs change and Scottish Labour to bring that change. This includes having strong, diverse voices to speak up for all of our communities. This is why I am seeking your 1st preference vote to be your voice, West Scotland’s voice in the Scottish Parliament.

To drive the change West Scotland needs, I believe Scottish Labour needs to focus on Building Back Better from the Coronavirus pandemic. This includes securing good quality jobs for our region and making the health system work for all. This includes ensuring our children have a decent education and those in need have access to a Citizens Advice Bureau in every part of West Scotland.

This is the change I have first-hand experience to deliver. I am passionate about achieving social justice and upholding human rights. I have volunteered in Citizens Advice Bureaus and as a Human Rights solicitor I stand up for people who have been discriminated against. I am actively involved within our diverse communities including the project work I lead in our local Sikh Gurdwaras.

The change that West Scotland needs, and that Scottish Labour will deliver, needs MSPs who have experience of the political system, access to our region’s communities, and ensuring our message is heard in the media. I have worked with politicians at Westminster, Holyrood and Local Government as well as speaking to the media. I live in Dumbarton with my wife and is where we are bringing up our young family.

My personal commitment to you is that I will do my utmost to represent you and our community in the Scottish Parliament. I will be your Scottish Labour MSP to deliver change, deliver diversity and deliver a strong voice for everyone across West Scotland. Vote Gurpreet Singh Johal Number 1.
